In A Word

As the mother of a thirteen-year-old boy I would like to make the following known:

I'm sick to death of the following words;

random

ironic

and

snap.

The last one seems to be particularly popular. When I asked Ian, "Are you swearing?", he replied, "Tsk, no!", which was accompanied by eye-rolling.

Back in Elly's day it was 'awesome' and 'squee'.

I'm going back to my knitting...

It's a shame that he's the only member of your family who doesn't read your blog.

I have to agree with you,i have a 14 year old boy AND a 16 year old girl and they say those words all the time.Especially 'thats random'
Glad to see I'm not the only one going thru the pain ;)

My teenager has told me not to embarrass her.

I still say "awesome" and "squee" but I'm also bringing back "fab" and "rad". Just putting it out there.
